More Hiking

Last weekend for Father's Day we went over by Lander to see the sink and the rise. We went this fall but we were told it is better in the spring with all of the run off. The river was higher than last fall, last time we could walk almost all the way down into where it "sinks." This time we stayed out a bit farther as the water was running much more swiftly.

This is a far away view of the mouth of the cave or sink.

This is a closer look at one side of the sink.

This is the main drainage of the sink. The water enters in travels underground for about 1 mile or two hours before it comes out again about 1/2 mile down the road.

Our walk down to the rise, where the water comes out of the mountain.
